Queer Icons Presented at PGMC Pride Concert
Portland Gay Men’s Chorus Presents ICONS: Pride Goes Pop
A Sonic Celebration of Queer Icons and Pop Legends at the Schnitz, June 21, 2025
Portland, OR — The Portland Gay Men’s Chorus (PGMC) is turning up the volume on Pride Month with ICONS: Pride Goes Pop, a one-night-only concert experience on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. This vibrant and high-energy performance pays tribute to the LGBTQ+ trail blazers, pop icons, and rising stars who have shaped music and culture — and inspired generations.
From powerhouse anthems to nostalgic throwbacks, ICONS showcases music by bold voices past and present, including Sia, Sam Smith, Chappell Roan, and Elton John. The Chorus will also bring new life to beloved hits like “One Voice” by Barry Manilow, “Love Shack” by the B-52s, and the unforgettable “Under Pressure” by David Bowie and Freddie Mercury — artists whose impact transcends genre and identity.
“With ICONS, we honor the legends and lift up the voices that continue to move us, challenge us, and unite us,” says Braeden Ayres, PGMC Artistic Director and Conductor. “This concert is a joyful, unapologetic celebration of queerness, pop culture, and the power of music to create change.”
Join PGMC for an unforgettable evening that blends electrifying performance, dazzling visuals, and pure Pride energy — all under one roof. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time attendee, ICONS: Pride Goes Pop promises to be the ultimate Pride Month celebration.
